Sri Lanka is a rich store house of traditional art and murals. They represent motifs & patterns which are inspired by stories, florals, animals both real and mythical and so on. specially there are wealthy hidden knowledge, techniques and practices with
in them. most of us are using this heritage art and mural but do not treating those rich knowledge and practices. as a designer aims to preserve Sri Lankan traditional
art and murals by using clothing as a medium. so, the label focusing to present Sri Lankan traditional art and murals in the form of new creations as a positive development of tradition instead of being merely duplicating of age-old art and murals. it will explore the creative path to back to the past and bridging the gap between the traditional and modernity by adding my authentic involvement to redefine Sri Lankan art and murals in an innovative way.

"SOBANI"

SOBANI is mythical creation of Sri Lankan folklore which is combined with Sri Lankan highly endangered endemic animal called Bodilima which is a spirit believed to haunt our island. it is interesting story which have traditional and cultural practices for women to defense men from sobani evil spirits in rural areas. Designed women wear collection is underlying concept of femme which means women empowerment through innovative print design by using sobani myth as an inspiration. focusing on preserve the hidden knowledge, and techniques of Sri Lankan traditional Kandyan art and murals by adding my authentic involvement to redefine the style of Kandyan traditional art style trough new form of creations using  bodilima as the new design inspiration.
